Congratulations on this joyful moment in your life!

I’m Father Jim, and I am truly happy that you are considering Baptism at Queen of Peace Church. The Baptism of a child is a beautiful and sacred occasion—one that marks the beginning of a lifelong journey of faith and a deep relationship with God.

Through Baptism, your child is welcomed into the Church and becomes part of our parish family. It is a moment filled with grace, hope, and promise—not only for your child, but for your entire family.

At Queen of Peace, we are here to support you as you prepare for this special day. We will guide you through the process, including scheduling the Baptism, preparing for the ceremony, and understanding the meaning of this sacrament. We also offer preparation sessions to help parents and godparents fully appreciate the responsibility and blessing of raising a child in the Catholic faith.

We encourage you to begin by clicking the link below and completing the Baptism request form. From there, we will be in touch to walk with you through each step.

Please know that this is just the beginning—we look forward to accompanying your family as your child grows in faith.

May God bless your family, and may your child always walk in His light.

+ Father Jim

Frequently Asked Questions

Who can be baptized?
Infants and young children can be baptized with the consent of their parents or guardians. Adults seeking Baptism are invited to participate in the RCIA process.

Do parents need to be registered parishioners?
It is typically expected that families are registered and active in the parish, or willing to become so. Please contact us to discuss your situation. Sometimes with unique situations, a family will not have to belong as registered members to hold a Baptism here.

Who can be a godparent?
A godparent must be a fully initiated Catholic (having received Baptism, First Communion, and Confirmation) and actively practicing the faith. You are only required to have one godparent, but most choose a godfather and a godmother. A non-Catholic Christian can be a witness and stand as a godparent as long as there is another Catholic godparent as well.

How do we schedule a Baptism?
Begin by completing the online form or contacting the parish office. We will help you choose a date and guide you through the process. Baptisms usually occur following the last Mass on a Sunday- around 12:30.

Is there a fee for Baptism?
There is usually no set fee, though a freewill offering is appreciated.

What should my child wear?
Traditionally, children wear a white garment symbolizing new life in Christ. Families often provide this. Although white is the traditional color, any outfit is acceptable for the Baptism.
